February 10th + 11th + 12th

So despite the fact I've been doing barely anything, the days in this place seem to flyyyyyyy by. That or they're randomly disappearing? I wrote the last blog on Tuesday and now its Friday, wtf is up with that?

Wednesday was another one of those days where I don't remember what happened aka NOTHING DID.

Yesterday was pizza day. Enough said. Neil lent me $10 and then a BBQ Meatlovers pizza minus the bacon was mine, $8.50 and it was bloody yummy, just finished the leftovers about an hour ago actually. So for $8.50 (£5?) there was enough for two nights. Fecking amazing. Maybe because my stomach has shrunk due to lack of food, but who cares?! The only other exciting thing that happened was getting some work, aka for today = Friday. Awesome, work is needed muchly :) Later start too, bus was at 6:15 - whoop!

Got up around 5:30, wandered around in shorts and a vest top and marvelled at the fact it would no doubt be ridiculously hot, it must have been about 20 degrees at that time and that is mental. Bus at 6:!5, work was just for me and Leighanne which surprised us both - didn't think Sue (owner of caravan park + lady who arranges jobs and transport) would bother with the bus for just two peoples work, but hey, I'm not complaining! Got there and had to climb over a gate to even get in because we were early, not amusing!

Turned out that the farm people had asked for two boys for the work, but were happy enough with me and Leighanne - our job for the day was to pick up sticks. Yes, you read right... pick up sticks. Fascinating stuff, yes? Well it was actually a pretty good day. There was me, Leighanne and the farm owners son in a field, driving round on a little quad bike with box style things made out of wood on the back, picking up sticks and taking them to a pile which was gonna be burnt. How did that take all day, I hear you say? Well.. it was a pretty big field. And there was a lot of sticks. But it was the most laidback day ever, we had breaks quite frequently for water (which I'm told is not that common in farm work) and we just chatted all day about the most inane stuff. Sticks took us up til about lunchtime where we chilled for about an hour (also not that common), and then after lunch it was... dun dun dun... PICKING UP ROCKS. WHOOP. Yes look at the excitement! Rocks were heavier than sticks, not quite as fun though we were filling up the boxes quicker and so had more breaks so it kinda equalled out. Rocks went into a little 'creek' at the bottom of the field, a creek with no water and now filled with rocks!

All in all, a good day. Although my face and chest are now burnt, yes I did use suncream, no it didn't work very well *again*. Though it worked on the back of my neck so at least thats something. I also think I have bruises on my legs and bum from sitting on the metal contraption on the back of the quad bike, very bumpy land and uncomfortable metal seating does not a happy Sheri make, but it beat walking! Also, I think the contents of several hundred beaches ended up in my shoes throughout the course of the day. Half of its still there.. not good. However, was paid $130 for the day via cheque (they charged me at normal tax, even though my tax number hasn't come through yet, whoop) and cashed it in at the office, so now have some cash! Waiting for the money for grape picking the other day to come through now too, and then I can treat myself to things like washing my clothes.. and chocolate. Scooore.

Today has made me more happy, though fingers crossed theres more work coming or I'm back to square one i.e. skint and miserable. Now is time to chill out, eat pizza (unfortunately now all gone) and do nothing for the rest of the evening, I am k-nackered!
