February 6th + 7th + 8th + 9th

So, there I was thinking I'd written blogs for the past few days... what little has happened anyway, but apparently not. Either that or I've gone crazy, to be honest thats more likely.

I guess the reason I haven't written is because I haven't *done* anything! Getting a bit depressing to be fair. I actually remember nothing of note from the 6th or 7th to even write about, Saturday and Sunday. Sunday we were going to go to Stanthorpe, but then we realised all the shops are closed. All day. Yeah, that was about it. I've watched all 4 seasons of Weeds I had on my hard drive (donated by the french girl @ Wake Up), and I've started watching Season 1 of Gossip Girl for the 2nd time. YAY. Neil is gonna donate some Charlie Brooker stuff to my hard drive at some point later - never really watched him, but anything is better than nothing!

So, due to Stanthorpe being ridiculously backward and closed on Sundays, we went yesterday aka Monday. After Neil got back from work, one of his friends from work drove us into Stanthorpe and although I have *zero* spare money I went as well just to get out of the caravan park! Just kinda wandered around a bit, the banks here shut at 4pm so we missed going to the bank - pain in the ass cos I kinda need my bank card transferred to this branch instead of sitting where it is at Pitt Street in Sydney.. again, pain in the ass! But never mind, will do it some other time. Took my passport and visa number into Ready Workforce cos I hadn't last time. To be fair, regardless of lack of money I quite enjoyed being in town because there is *decent* phone signal which meant I didn't have to sit at awkward angles on my bed or outside in the cold to reply to messages! Woohoo! Small things! All good :D

It makes me laugh that I just moaned about sitting outside in the cold. Basically I'm moaning about the fact that at around 11pm I have to put a cardigan over my vest top to sit out the front of the bunkhouse. Oh.. aren't I spoilt :D I'm loving the warmer weather. I'll never be a sunworshipper like my mum but its so nice to just wander around in shorts and a vest top and be GLORIOUSLY WARRRRRRRRRRM. Yes I know you all hate me. Its cool.

Today was my day of grape picking at 'Sirromet Wines' - was pretty cool, despite the 4:30am wake up time. Well.. I set the alarm for then, to be honest I didn't end up getting out of bed until about 4:50 - not clever. Left at about 5:15, getting a lift from Max, one of the german guys. There was 5 of us together, Leighanne (the one from the bus the other day), Romain and Celine (french people in the bunkhouse next to me and Neil) and then Max. Thankfully, as he was the driver :D Anyway, got there, signed in, blah blah blah and started work. Grape picking is actually ridiculously easy though rather messy - could have done with some gloves really but never mind, too late for that. We were each given a bucket and a pair of 'snippers' and just basically had to walk up and down the rows of plants and just cut the grapes off into a bucket, when it was full, get a new one. I would gladly do more of that work haha just to hope it comes along! And the reason it was messy was because every now and then you'd burst a grape so you'd have sticky hands, and there was loads of cobwebs and general planty stuff on the vines so they got stuck to your hands. Lovely.

Anyway, the work unfortunately only ran til 11:30am, so only 6 hours pay instead of the 9 I was hoping for! How ruuude. But fingers crossed something else comes up soon, and thats another day towards my visa I can cross off if I go for it. Oooh also Leighanne at one point found a redback spider, and thats one of the really poisonous ones. Didn't get a chance to see it as one of the supervisor guys told her to squish it haha. Amused, muchly.

Speaking of spiders, and now I bet I'll jinx myself, I haven't seen that many. There was none in Sydney, and then I saw a few on the farm but only when digging into the weeds and thats no real surprise. One of the guys at the farm saw a redback when he was moving some tyres around, and there was that one today, but thats it. Theres three main ones here or so I've been told, the redback, funnelweb (they're the two poisonous ones) and the huntsman, which is the gigantic one but not harmful. So... middle finger up to all those of you who were trying to wind me up about the millions of spiders there would be before I left! Sod ya! One landed on my hand today actually, just a general one and I still kinda flipped out and flicked it off uber quickly.. but yeah. Well.

It feels like it should now be really late.. I dozed off when I got back from work, and its only 15:30. I haven't been waking up til about 10am most days so having been awake 5 hours longer than usual it feels really weird and I'm gonna get hungry soon, how irritating. Too lazy to go make noodles. Actually getting fecking SICK of noodles too, wish there was something else ridiculously cheap I could go for instead!

Also.. I ran out of my marble chocolate. Sad times. Sad sad times.
