February 2nd + 3rd

So, after my last entry we were making food. Later on that evening, Katie came to the cottage to talk to Neil and to drop off some clothes for me. Before she left though, she basically told me that she was taking Neil to some nearby town the next day so that he could get a bus and go to another farm somewhere else picking tomatoes. Basically she didn't say I had to go, but she heavily implied she wanted me to. So.. I told her I'd think about it and then she left. I was a bit unsure on what to do at first but in the end I decided to leave as I think I'll have a much better time at this other farm. I didn't think I was doing so badly, we'd worked the whole of Monday and I'd tried pretty damn hard. But apparently, my trying wasn't enough, and I didn't wanna stay there if they were gonna be on my back hinting for me to leave all the time.

So I decided to go and started to pack up my stuff when we got a phone call to tell us there wasn't a bus the next day after all, so we were to work Tuesday as well, just like normal and then head off on Wednesday morning instead. Didn't really bother me, work is work and money is money so we worked Tuesday and all was well. Actually worked out quite well to be fair as I'd wanted to try this 'bananabread' that Ro had been mentioning and we hadn't had time to make, so we made it Tuesday instead and had it after dinner on Tuesday night. Whoop. That was the highlight of the day, isn't that brilliant.

Wednesday morning came around and I'd packed up most of my stuff, thankfully. Evil beast of a rucksack that it is. Had breakfast, headed down to the main house to leave for Armidale which is where we were getting the bus, going to Stanthorpe - I think. Not 100% sure exactly where it is but its apparently about 2 hours from Brisbane and its also actually in Queensland, so I will have officially jumped states. Whoop?

Took about an hour and a half to get to Armidale with Katie going on and on and on about nothing much in particular, can't say it was the most fun car journey of my life but hey. At one point my phone signal came back and I was able to send a few messages and get on facebook, whoop whoop! :) Was nice after being out of contact for a few days lol, I don't think it was the lack of internet or facebook that bothered me which is surprising, but just not being able to talk to anyone? Bit sucky!

So got to Armidale and went to the shop to buy a few bits, needed food and shampoo and conditioner and after sun.. my burn has gone horrendously bad btw, not that anyone wants to know this TMI but its all peeling and flaky on both my back and my legs, my back is nearly done now actually but my legs are still a bit dgnrkjhkadg. Which is not the nicest thing in the world, but hopefully it'll sort itself out soon! And I will remember to wear double the amount of sun cream next time I'm on a beach, that sun was a bitch!

So anyway now I am sitting on a bus, we've been on here for about an hour and a half I think and soon enough we shall arrive at 'Blue Topaz' caravan park. Yes, a caravan park. Wahey? There isn't actually any work for the next few days, but basically we just have to express our interest when we get there and the woman who runs it sorts us out to get work as soon as there is some. So.. fingers crossed it'll be soon, I don't have enough money to be pissing around! Eeeep!

I have discovered that Dairy Milk Marble chocolate is amaaaaazing. That is all.
So we got here earlier. Its fantastic. Cough cough. It really is just a caravan park. Don't know what I expected really from the name haha. Originally got put into a four bed van / room type thing with four asian girls, none of whom seemed to speak english. Neil got put into a teeny weeny little two bed room by himself. So.. yeah I swapped haha. We both feel a bit better as we kinda know eachother and trust eachother not to steal eachothers stuff! I have too much valuable stuff with me for that kinda shit. Plus, it really would have sucked in that other room - they all knew eachother and when I came in they all just kinda stared a lot and giggled and talked amongst themselves.. very comforting.

Anyway now I'm in the little two bed room, its not so bad but not so good haha. Being a caravan park they don't provide quilts or anything which I totally didn't realise so had to spend some more money (refundable to be fair) to get a loan quilt and pillow.. eww. But hey I'll live. Absoluuuuutely nothing to do though. We're a fair few KM from the nearest town which is Stanthorpe and theres nothing apart from a phone box near to where we actually are. The little checkin / reception / convenience store is only open 6am - 6pm as well, pain in the ass. Although, they do have internet - expensive though! Looks like all these blogs are waiting til I get back to civilisation. The convenience store is ridiculously overpriced too, again no real surprise, but looks like I'm living on the food I've got until Friday, when they run a free trip into Stanthorpe where hopefully there'll be a Woolworths or a Coles or something (aka cheaper supermarket type things). So.. I have a bottle of fizzy drink, an apple, a bag of crisps, a pot noodle, a bag of microwave popcorn, some nutella and a chocolate bar to last until Friday. SCORE.

Hoping to get a little bit of money in my UK account tomorrow from Currys, pretty sure I was due a bonus and they're one month behind so fingers crossed as I really am skint at the moment. Neil just got called over to the office and got given a job but it was guys only so fingers crossed something will come up for me tomorrow or the next day, or basically just as soon as possible cos I really am totally totally broke and its not fun.. pretty damn worrying really, although I know people will help me out if I need it I don't want to rely on that, but Sydney basically broke the bank and what with Subiaco (the farm) not working out anywhere near as productive as intended.. if I don't get a job soon I'm fecked!

So for this evenings entertainment.. I have no real clue. I finished my book, thats two books I have on me and I've read them both. I'm up to date with blogs, pretty up to date with photos and watched most of the stuff on my hard drive.. looks like boring pointless games on my laptop for me! Woohoo! :D :D :D Though on the positive side, at least I'm not so far our in the wilderness here as my phone *does* work so I can get messages and go on the internet... whoop whoop <- sincere this time! :)
